Florianópolis Airport implements new measures to control the coronavirus

21 Tues 2020

A Floripa Airport, concessionaire of Florianópolis International Airport, implemented this Saturday (21/03) a series of new measures to contribute to the containment of the coronavirus in Santa Catarina, among them, the temperature measurement of all passengers arriving in Florianópolis.

“A Floripa Airport had already initiated several actions, following Anvisa's protocol. Last Friday, in partnership with the mayor of Florianópolis, Gean Loureiro, we obtained authorization from Anvisa to implement temperature measurement. The nurses, from the airport itself, have already started this action this Saturday. We will spare no effort to contribute everything possible to contain the spread of the coronavirus in Santa Catarina ”says Ricardo Gesse, director general of Floripa Airports.

The actions implemented this Saturday are:

  • Nurses, from MedMais, hired by Floripa Airport at the airport's medical center, they began to measure the temperature of passengers arriving in Florianópolis.
  • The city hall of Florianópolis will support the screening of passengers, where people with symptoms will be referred to the outpatient clinic of Floripa Airport and people without symptoms will sign a liability waiver, facilitating monitoring by the city hall.
  • Sound warnings about the distance of 2 meters between people are fired at the terminal and also provide guidance on the importance of washing your hands and using alcohol gel.
  • To ensure the distance between people in lines, we put markers on the floor, with a distance of 2 meters
  • Our teams are working directly to disperse the agglomerations into queues
  • We removed all the furniture from Boulevard 14/32, the square in front of the passenger terminal
  • We provide gel alcohol at all points of the terminal, close to the restrooms
  • We are making acrylic protection for the check-in counters
  • We provide a room for the Department of Health team.

Previously, since the confirmation of the first case of coronavirus in Brazil, the Floripa Airport has already implemented actions, such as making alcohol gel available throughout the airport, audible and physical warnings about prevention, closing the panoramic terrace and postponing all events on Boulevard 14/32.

The concessionaire reiterates the request that passengers with flights scheduled for 3 days from now not come to the airport to reschedule or cancel tickets. Look for the airline by phone or internet.
