About 40 Army soldiers carried out a complete sanitization this Friday at Florianópolis International Airport, in another action coordinated by the Floripa Airport to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus at the airport.

5 liters of disinfectant product were used, the same used in hospitals, applied through backpack pumps and sprayers. The military had to wear chemical protective coveralls, gloves, masks, goggles and boots. The focus at this first moment was the departure and arrival halls.

“We would like to thank the partnership of the Army, which promptly joined us in this major airport sanitation operation. We already have a strict airport sanitization routine. And this action today is yet another reinforcement to guarantee a safe airport for those who need to travel at this moment” comments Ricardo Gesse, General Director of Floripa Airports.

Among the actions implemented by the Floripa Airport since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis, there are sanitary barriers at disembarkation and tests of covid-19 in symptomatic passengers (both in partnership with the City Hall of Florianópolis), sound warnings of minimum distance, queue markers, use of masks and gloves for all employees, alcohol gel spread throughout the terminal and acrylic protections at the service counters.
