Another international route: Florianópolis Airport will have a regular flight to Santiago de Chile

April 11, 2022

A Floripa Airport, operator of Florianópolis Airport and part of the company Zurich Airport Brasil, and the airline SKY announced this Monday that Florianópolis Hercílio Luz International Airport will have regular flights to Santiago de Chile, starting on July 3rd.

There will be 3 flights per week, carried out by the A320 Neo model aircraft, with a capacity for 186 seats. The launch of the route comes with a promotional rate. From today (11) until April 17, the ticket costs US$ 60 each way.

The new regular route has an unprecedented feature for Santa Catarina, as it is the first time that the airport in the capital of Santa Catarina has had a second international operation throughout the year. At the end of March, the concessionaire announced the return of weekly flights to Buenos Aires, Argentina, operated by Gol.

“The arrival of the Florianópolis – Santiago de Chile route highlights the Florianópolis Airport internationalization project, an initiative that we have intensified this year. We are the main gateway to and from Santa Catarina and we are going to expand the connectivity of our state”, says Ricardo Gesse, CEO of the airport.

Recently, the concessionaire's representatives participated in Routes America 2022, the main event between airports and airlines in the world, held in the USA, and in the BTL, Lisbon Tourism Fair. For the concessionaire, coordinated actions with the tourist trade are also essential for the development of international tourism in Santa Catarina.

With this announcement and in the case of regular routes, Florianópolis International Airport will operate 10 domestic destinations and 2 international destinations: Brasília, Confins-Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro, Guarulhos, Congonhas, Viracopos, Curitiba, Foz do Iguaçu, Porto Alegre and Chapecó, Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile.
