Consolidated as a hub in southern Brazil, the Floripa Airport Cargo participates as an exhibitor in this year's edition of Logistique – New logistic connections, from August 30th to September 1st, at the Expoville Promotions Center, in Joinville. The company’s CEO, Ricardo Gesse, is also a member of the Meeting of Leaders panel – Perspectives and trends for the logistics sector, starting at 18 pm on the third day of the fair, within the schedule of the Abralog Sul Logistics Conference.  

The cargo terminal (Teca) is operated by Zurich Airport Brasil and handled 1,15 tons of cargo in the first half of this year, up 13% over the same period last year. However, with the investments and operational agreements that the operator is making to increase the routes of cargo planes in the capital of Santa Catarina, it is estimated that the index will exceed 30%. The expectation for this year is the loading and unloading of 2,6 thousand tons of cargo.  

Since Zurich Airport Brasil took over the operations of Florianópolis International Airport in 2018 and made substantial investments in infrastructure, the Cargo Terminal at Florianópolis Airport has shown record growth figures. This is also reflected in the increase and diversification of the company's customer base. Today the Floripa Airport Cargo operates cargo from several industrial segments, however, the electronics sector leads the operations.

Logistique contributed strongly to this purpose, creating a vibrant business environment among the main players in the sector”, explains Ricardo Gesse, CEO of Zurich Airport Brasil 

The airport operates two weekly flights on the Miami x Florianópolis route. The Concessionaire seeks to develop more and more the Floripa Airport Cargo, and the actions include the expansion of the cargo terminal and the development of new freight routes. 

“Logistics for air cargo has been growing significantly in the state since Zurich Airport Brasil took over and expanded operations in Florianópolis and it is this new reality that we want to show in this edition of Logistique and the Abralog Sul Logistics Conference, as well as bringing to the fair the technological changes that are emerging for the sector”, explains the director of Logistique, Leonardo Rinaldi.
