Florianópolis will have 26 direct routes in the summer

Florianópolis International Airport is getting ready to operate the biggest high season in its history, with 26 direct routes, which include national and international options and destinations never before operated.

Among the 26 routes, there are 15 new flights, connecting Santa Catarina with the Brazilian Northeast and Midwest and also with Mercosur countries. The new frequencies are Salvador, Recife, Campo Grande, Cuiabá, Santo Ângelo, Pelotas, Passo Fundo, Santa Maria, Uruguaiana and Goiânia, the latter will remain in the airport network throughout the year; Internationally, flights to Montevideo, Asunción, Cordoba, Rosario and Ezeiza (Buenos Aires), in Argentina 

In total, the expected movement for the months of December and January is 6% higher than in the same period (December/19 to January/20), in the pre-pandemic period, reaching 19 national routes, 7 international routes and 7 airlines with operation in Florianopolis. 

“The next high season will be a milestone for Florianópolis International Airport, with the overcoming of pre-pandemic levels of movement and the expansion of the airport's internationalization. Florianópolis will consolidate itself as the gateway to Santa Catarina”, says Ricardo Gesse, CEO of Zurich Airport Brasil.

In addition to the new routes, the airport will also expand its network in existing markets. Some routes such as Santos Dumont/Rio de Janeiro and Congonhas/São Paulo will operate as an air shuttle, with an average of 6 daily flights to Santos Dumont and 14 flights a day to Congonhas in January.

Argentina, Florianópolis' traditional international connection, will have a significant increase in high season. The neighboring country will concentrate up to 9 daily flights, operated by 3 airlines (Gol, Flybondi and Aerolíneas Argentinas), to 4 airports: Ezeiza and Aeroparque in Buenos Aires and Córdoba and Rosario. The new mesh for Argentina represents a growth of 22% compared to the high season of 2019 and 2020.

  • Aerolíneas Argentinas: from December, daily flights to Buenos Aires; 3x per week to Cordoba; and from January, 2x a week for Rosario.
  • GOL: from 4/12, daily flights to Buenos Aires (Aeroparque and Ezeiza); 3x per week to Cordoba
  • Flybondi: from 1/12, daily flights Buenos Aires (Ezeiza)

Another highlight of the international network is the new regular flight to Montevideo (Uruguay), which will begin to be operated twice a week in December by Azul.

Santiago de Chile, which currently has 4 flights per week, will now have 9 flights per week with SKY and 5 per week with Latam. To Asunción, in Paraguay, there will be 2 weekly frequencies, starting on 28/12
