In an action by the Sustainability team at Floripa Airport, students and volunteers participated on Thursday (20th) in the cleaning of Praia da Mutuca, in Ribeirão da Ilha, around the airport. The project is part of the Water and Life initiative.

In a few meters of sand, the students collected different types of garbage, separating them according to the guidance of professionals. The action concluded a week in which students had lectures and debates on the environment with specialists hired by ZAB.

More than 70 people, including dozens of students from the EEF Baldiceno Filomeno and Escola do Futuro schools, scoured the beach, separated the trash and then celebrated with sustainable gifts from partner companies Hard Rock, Starbucks, Meu Copo Eco and Brooks Ambiental.

The Florianópolis City Hall also helped in the initiative, through the Environment Departments.

The socio-environmental action aims to make the population aware of the impacts of irregular waste disposal, with pollution in terrestrial and aquatic biota, in addition to the importance of caring for the environment, which reflects on the population's quality of life.
