Florianópolis will have up to 10 flights a day to Argentina in high season

29 Aug 2023

With an unprecedented flight offer in the history of Santa Catarina, Florianópolis International Airport will offer up to 10 daily flights to Argentina in high season. The connection from the capital of Santa Catarina with the neighboring country will be made by four airlines: JetSMART, Flybondi, Aerolíneas Argentinas and Gol and will have as destination 4 different airports: Ezeiza and Aeroparque, in the Capital Buenos Aires, and also the cities of Córdoba and Rosario.

The ultralowcost JetSMART makes its debut on the route on December 30, with three weekly flights. The Argentinean lowcost Flybondi, which between September and November will have two flights a week to Buenos Aires, will now have daily flights in high season. The two companies, which have a competitive price as one of their main attractions, have already announced that they will operate the route on a regular basis, that is, they will maintain the operation throughout the year.

In order to meet the high demand from tourists, who last summer were responsible for an average occupancy of 80% on flights between Florianópolis and Argentina, Aerolíneas Argentina will resume from December the already traditional route connecting the two countries in the high season with flights to Buenos Aires, Cordoba and Rosario. Gol, which already operates a regular route on a daily basis, expects to increase the number of flights to the Argentine capital during the summer.

“Florianópolis airport is the gateway to Santa Catarina and has a unique infrastructure to receive international flights, which reinforces our focus on the internationalization of the airport, which is increasingly becoming a hub in the Southern Cone. And it doesn't stop there, soon, we will announce new destinations for South America”, highlights Fábio Marques, Director of Operations at Zurich Airport Brasil, the concessionaire that manages the airport.

According to the concessionaire, the diversity of flights to Argentina will remain regular, with at least 3 airlines operating to Argentina and the forecast of up to 13 frequencies per week.

Another prominent destination in South America is Chile, which will have up to 23 flights a week to Santiago in high season, operated by 3 airlines: Sky, Latam and JetSMART.

Zurich Airport Brasil reinforces that the air network is dynamic, therefore, flights and frequencies may change.
