High season: Floripa Airport will have up to 50 international flights per day

05 Dec 2024

Zurich Airport Brasil, the concessionaire that manages Florianópolis International Airport, presented today, at a press conference, the flight network for the 2024/2025 high season and the main highlights of next summer. Compared to the 2023/2024 season, a 20% growth in airport traffic is expected, which will represent the largest movement in the airport's history.

Flights abroad will once again be a highlight. There will be 10 airlines operating and up to 50 international flights per day. This represents a 63% increase in international traffic compared to last season. These figures consolidate Florianópolis International Airport as the 3rd airport in Brazil with the highest number of international passengers, behind only Guarulhos (SP) and Galeão (RJ), Brazil's major international hubs.

“The growth in the number of passengers, especially international passengers, is the result of working with a number of partners to bring new routes and promote Santa Catarina as a destination. The diversity of flights we offer our passengers this season consolidates Florianópolis Airport as the gateway to Santa Catarina,” says Ricardo Gesse, CEO of Zurich Airport Brasil.

Passengers will be able to choose between nine international destinations from the capital of Santa Catarina:

  • Lisbon
  • Panama
  • Buenos Aires
  • Córdoba
  • Rosary
  • Santiago
  • Montevideo
  • Lima
  • Asuncion

Highlights include the route connecting Santa Catarina to Lisbon, in Portugal, operated by TAP – with 3 weekly frequencies – and flights between the United States and the Caribbean, via Panama, by Copa Airlines – with 4 weekly frequencies – which debuted in 2024 and will operate during the high season for the first time.

The growth of the Chilean market throughout the year, when it was the third most sought after at Florianópolis Airport, extends into the summer months. Up to 9 flights per day will be offered to Santiago - by SKY, JetSmart and Latam airlines - something unprecedented.

Among the new features is the flight offered by Azul to Asunción, Paraguay, which begins on December 18 and continues until February. The airline will also operate two new domestic routes during the season with direct flights to Recife and Curitiba. These will be in addition to the 10 destinations within Brazil offered throughout the year.

Domestic routes:

  • Congonhas
  • Guarulhos
  • Viracopos
  • Galleon
  • confines
  • Brasilia
  • Chapecó
  • Pelotas
  • Santa Maria
  • Foz do Iguacu
  • Recife*
  • Curitiba*
