Floripa Airport Cargo now has four weekly frequencies

12 Dec 2023

This month, Latam Cargo launched its third weekly frequency at Florianópolis International Airport. As a result, the terminal now has four cargo flights per week between Miami and the Capital. The company, which began operating at Florianópolis airport just over three years ago, already had two flights a week connecting North America to Santa Catarina.

With the new feature, the transport capacity of the Floripa Airport Cargo, managed by Zurich Airport Brasil, reaches almost a thousand tons per month – a number higher than the State's current demand for imports from the United States. In addition to Latam, Avianca Cargo operates a weekly frequency, starting in November, between Miami and Florianópolis. Latam Cargo operates on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; and Avianca Cargo on Thursdays.

– With this additional option, added to the agility of our TECA (cargo terminal), in which 79% of our goods are released within 24 hours, the entire Santa Catarina logistics chain gains in efficiency and quality – says Ricardo Gesse, CEO of the airport .

The cargo terminal at Florianópolis Airport is the fastest growing in the country. From January to November this year, it handled 22% more import cargo than in the same period last year.
