Microsoft Edge version 15.0 +A Floripa Airport is building a new, spacious and modern passenger terminal, four times the size of the current one. The works started in January 2018, and the opening will take place in the second half of 2019!

How it all began: On January 15th, we started the fencing and preparation of the land to later receive the construction of the building.
Machines in the area: Earthworks phase. The equivalent of 12 thousand trucks of earth were moved. In a row, the vehicles would have the length of almost 80 Hercílio Luz bridges!
Our base: Start of placing the first piles. They will support the new terminal building.
Dedicated people: Workers focused on placing a total of 900 piles, which reach about 20 meters deep.
Up and forward: Installation of the first metallic structure of the new passenger terminal building
Heavy: Employees follow the work of placing the 3.700 tons of metallic structures.
Where will you go: Concreting of the floor begins to be done. Through a pipe, the concrete is taken from the truck to the highest floor of the building.
On the top: Construction reaches the top. There will be 3 floors in the central part of the building. Passenger boarding will take place on the upper floor. Disembark, below.
Track works: A Floripa Airport builds the taxiway, a parallel runway for aircraft taxiing, freeing up the main runways to receive more flights.
28% complete!: The work on the new terminal is well under way. The central block of the building is already receiving the final covering.
The first finger we never forget: Start of installation of the first of 10 boarding bridges. The current terminal has none.
Check in done: The check-in area will be large and modern, with large flight panels.
You will get here: The construction of the viaduct that will lead to the entrance to the Terminal is in progress. There are 42 pillars that will support the structure!
7 thousand m2 of glass: building is being closed off with glass, ensuring natural light and less energy consumption and a wide view of the terminal surroundings. This month, construction reached 60% of the total completed.
On finishing: the floor of the new terminal is covered with granite, and the placement of the pieces is already in the final phase. In total, there will be 23 thousand square meters of first-class material.
panoramic terrace: This month, the construction of the 600 m² terrace is completed, a space open to the public with a wide view of the airport.
Departure bridges: Installation of the 10 bridges ends this month. There will be only 80m of distance between the terminal and the aircraft.
BHS: The automated baggage handling system is already installed and in the testing phase. BHS allows for more security and more agility in dispatch.
The facade: The external coating, called phenolic panel, makes the facade ventilated, contributing to thermal insulation.
Dream came true :: construction is complete and the new terminal is ready to open on October 1, 2019
