Unprecedented in Santa Catarina: Florianópolis International Airport receives flight from Lima, Peru

03 January 2024

The year 2024 began with the debut of a new route at Florianópolis International Airport. This morning, for the first time in the history of Santa Catarina, a flight that left Lima, Peru, landed in the state capital.

The flight connecting Florianópolis to the Peruvian capital makes a stopover on the same plane in Montevideo. The frequency will be three times a week. With the new regular route, with two destinations, lowcost SKY Airline becomes the foreign airline with the most flights in the State of Santa Catarina – it also offers flights to Santiago in Chile.

“The new destination and the diversification of airlines demonstrate that we are on the right path towards the internationalization of Florianópolis airport. We will have an 83% growth in international movement this season, compared to the same period in 2019/20, before the pandemic”, says Ricardo Gesse, CEO of Zurich Airport Brasil.

With the new options, the Floripa Airport now offers a total of 6 international destinations - Buenos Aires, Santiago, Montevideo, Lima, Asunción and Córdoba and 8 airlines - Azul, Gol, Latam, Sky, Flybondi, JetSMART, Aerolíneas Argentinas and Paranair - during the season, reaffirming its position as the 5th airport in Brazil with the largest movement of international passengers. The greater choice of airlines guarantees passengers more options regarding schedules, prices and much more connectivity.

Until the end of March 2024, the frequency of the Florianópolis x Lima route, with a stop in Montevideo, will be three times a week, always on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The concessionaire reinforces that the air network is dynamic and may undergo changes.
