Contrary to other airports, Floripa Airport values executive aviation and launches exclusive service

With the objective of valuing an important sector of aviation, the Floripa Airport, concessionaire of Florianópolis International Airport, has just launched an exclusive service for executive aviation.

Even in the pre-pandemic period, the Swiss concessionaire was already prototyping the service, considering the potential of the Santa Catarina airport for the sector. In addition to its strategic position in the southern region of Brazil and for Mercosur, executive aviation is a facilitator of business travel, contributing to the economic development of the region.

“A Floripa Airport has a new, large terminal. The fact that the airport operator itself provides the service provides more agility, ease and comfort in service. We look at executive aviation as a promising and outstanding business for our airport and for the state of Santa Catarina”, comments Ricardo Gesse, CEO of Florianópolis airport.

In the pandemic, this aviation niche has shown its strength. According to the Air Traffic Comparative Report for the month of August, general aviation reached 84,6% of the movement in the same month in 2019, while commercial aviation reached 30,7% in the same comparison. At Florianópolis Airport, in August 2020, general aviation reached 68% of the movement in August 2019 and 27% in commercial aviation.

The "Floripa Airport Executive Service” brings together a complete package, which ranges from a luxury car to transport the crew between the aircraft and the terminal, through a room set up for the pilot to rest, to a 24-hour concierge.

The service pack includes:

  • Coordination for ground services (supply, catering, GPU, among others);
  • Executive waiting room for pilots and/or passengers;
  • Meeting room;
  • Access to VIP parking;
  • 24-hour concierge;
  • Unrestricted access to the wifi connection;
  • Monitoring the immigration and emigration processes;
  • Transport/transfer reservation (executive taxi, van);
  • Accompaniment throughout the embarkation and disembarkation journey, with the provision of a Volvo S60 model car, in partnership with the Volvo Dimas Dealership.

The new service comes to complement other services that already exist at the airport, provided by partner companies, such as the hangar and the FBO aimed at international passengers.

For the concessionaire, executive aviation is a driving force for the airport, which enables connectivity to a countless number of destinations, unreachable only by the commercial air network, and is also a sector with growth prospects, expanding the range of services and segment activities in Florianópolis.
