O Floripa Airport Cargo, the international cargo terminal at Florianópolis Airport, managed by Zurich Airport Brasil, recorded a historic record in the first quarter of 2021. The growth in the CIF value of the goods reached 105%, and the terminal registered 462 tons handled in the period - marks never reached before. 

Commercial prospecting actions with importers and cargo agents from Santa Catarina and also from Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná and São Paulo were determining factors for leverage both in volume and in revenue. The Technology segment leads the Terminal movement, followed by Medical and Hospital Equipment and the textile sector.

Other figures for the first quarter of 2021:

• Nationalized air shipments in the enclosure rose 32%;
• Average of 64% of loads released within 24 hours;
• 25 new customers;
• 5% reduction in cargo storage time.
   

After infrastructure investments made by the concessionaire: Floripa Airport Cargo reached a new level, with a weekly international freighter route, between Miami and Florianópolis. Latam Cargo's Boeing 767-300 lands weekly in Florianópolis, maintaining 100% regularity since the beginning of operations in August 2020.

In 2020 the Floripa Airport Cargo had already achieved amazing records. The terminal handled approximately R$1 billion in goods, registered the arrival of 97 new customers and maintained the 0% rate of damage to cargo, which demonstrates the terminal's high level of efficiency and quality.

The Florianópolis International Airport concessionaire has always highlighted the logistical strength of Santa Catarina as a hub for the sector for the South Region, and the data from the Floripa Airport Cargo only reinforce this potential.
